Global Creative call: 2012 survival kit project

November 29th 2011
CODE magazine and HTNK invite fashion designers to submit designs for the post-2012 world - form following function from a 21-st century urban perspective. Visions as well as designs are welcome and can range from utilitarian streetwear to conceptual couture.
The materials and technologies used can be traditional, cutting-edge or a combination thereof. However all concepts have to be executable. The future is now.

In a world where structures – both physical and spiritual – have eroded or vanished, a clear inner direction is of utmost importance. When navigating unknown territory or a new world, one needs a map and compass or a GPS. So, we also invite artists and designers to create a talisman or amulet for the post-apocalyptic world. It should be a symbol to navigate by and access the strongest parts of our spirit in alignment with what’s around us.

Submissions by fashion designers will be curated by Kanako B. Koga and Mariette Hoitink. Submissions by jewelry designers will be curated by Mariette Hoitink.
The deadline closes 21 February 2011.
A selection of the best submissions will be presented in an exhibition (21 April – 21 May 2012) and a catalogue.

This creative call is not a competition but a design project in which creatives from all over the world are invited to participate, share and inspire.

Participants can submit their designs via 2012survivalkitproject.com.
